Through a competitive tender and robust evaluation, Amplify successfully rationalised the state’s contracted product listings from over 17,000 products to a core range of 3,500, Amplify also embedded supplier catalogues for efficient purchasing. The project achieved $350k in annual savings while significantly increasing spend under management, improving catalogue compliance, ordering efficiency and improved supplier relationships. The tender process was delivered 40% quicker than the functions average time to market.

Amplify worked with Australia's largest government health shared services department to bring clarity to how procurement was performing across its portfolios. Amplify analysed spend, contracts, budgets, resourcing and performance against industry benchmarks to build and implement a balanced procurement scorecard that turned complex data into clear, performance insights for the Procurement function. The work helped teams to spot trends, understand what drives performance, and measure return on investment per FTE across each portfolio, giving the client increased insights into performance and smarter ways to improve.

Developing a categorically better taxonomy for a leading Government Health agency.
Amplify were engaged by a major state health department to develop a new procurement taxonomy for its medical consumable’s portfolio. The objectives of the new taxonomy were to balance the alignment of contracts between key clinical stakeholder groups and the supply markets. Lack of existing taxonomy meant contracts had duplicate categories creating confusion amongst stakeholders and inefficiency in demand aggregation. Using subject matter expertise, Amplify designed a taxonomy to Tier 4 and mapped all spend back to the taxonomy and contracts. The new taxonomy resulted in a revised contract structure, which streamlined operations and increased leverage through demand aggregation.
